Ive been living and fishing in Florida my whole life. I have my ways of fishing. The Indian River lagoon is a very great place to live and fish. It is a mixture between salt and freshwater also known as brackish water. Here's a list of fish that live in the Indian river lagoon.
Red fish, Gator/Speckled Sea Trout, Snook, Tarpon, Flounder, Grouper, Catfish, Lady fish, Pin Fish, Mullet and many more.
The best way to catch some of these are at rundown/broken docks.
Live bait fishing technique...
cast net some bait
try to keep small bait
best hook is a circle hook
hook bait in mouth, and through the top of the mouth through nose
all u need is a small rod,6ft to 6ft6in, with 10 to 15 lbs test.
Now that's just brackish water. The Florida keys is some of the best fishing in the world. actually it is. now I've seen many ways to fish the keys. most of them are live bait. I prefer to book a charter fishing in the keys because it would be too difficult to bring your boat down. I went on a tarpon charter fishing marathon bridge. we used large mullet for bait.
fishing for bass is a totally different story. for that all I've seen work with bass is artificial worms and fake lizards and frogs. i personally do not like bass fishing. not fun enough. but for kids....its great!
